Free Lightning Protection Software

A program for risk assessment analysis against losses caused by lightning for any building. The program is made based on methodology, established in the international standard BS EN 62305-2: “Lightning protection – Part 2. Risk Assessment.”

According to the International Electro technical Commission (IEC) before proceeding with lightning protection system design for any object or building, the risk of damages from lightning must be assessed.

The key elements needed to make such an assessment are:

  1. Keraunic level (annual number of days with active atmospheric activity level of a margin of lightning) of the area where the building/facility is situated.
  2. The type, purpose and height of the tested building for risk assessment – separately located, surrounded by higher or lower buildings, etc.
  3. Availability of electronic equipment in the building, which can fail because of lightning in the area or as a result of atmospheric surges in the network.
  4. The power supply type of the building – underground or overhead.
  5. The fire resistance degree of the building.
  6. Presence in the building of fire alarm, extinguishing systems and fire extinguishing resources.
  7. The number of people in the building or in an immediate proximity to it.
  8. What material is the building floor made of (concrete, ceramics, etc.)

The standard, which should answer the risk assessment in Bulgaria, is legally established in Regulation 4 / 22.12.2010 – Lightning protection of buildings, outdoor facilities and open spaces. But the risk assessment must also be conformable with the international standard BDS EN 62305-2. “Lightning protection, unit 2.” Risk Assessment “.

Our company offers you the following program to carry out analysis of risk assessment against a lightning defeat for any building.
