Sarafovo fishing port in Burgas
Paradise Electric designs a cathodic protection system for the Sarafovo fishing port in Burgas.
“For the construction of the port is planned installation of a large number of metal structures with a surface over 17,500 m2. They will be under water and this makes them very vulnerable to the corrosion caused by sea water. The project envisages the installation of a cathodic protection system with external power supply by means of rectifier block and mounting on the bottom of dispersion sleds with special anodes made of titanium electrodes MMO. The proposed system has a useful life of between 20 and 25 years and low installation costs. It can be installed after the pins have been installed in the water without being attached to them. The use of the cathodic protection system with external power ensures that the system can self-adjust automatically upon every change of the electrolyte (tides, drafts, temperatures, etc.), “the company said.
“The implementation of this project was entrusted to us by Euro Alliance Geotechnics on the basis of the following data:
- Drawing plan of all splines
- Height of the piles
- Depth of the submerged and buried part of the piles
- Depth of the seabed along the coast line
- Tidal levels
- Part of the shells that have been covered
- Sea current and sea traffic and salinity of seawater
